Creating a Universe with Longevity: From Global Youth Forum to COP30

Rights and Resources Initiative (RRI) is a global coalition advancing land and resource rights for Indigenous Peoples, Afro-descendant Peoples, and local communities. In 2025, RRI hosted its first Global Youth Forum (GYF) in Bali - a landmark event bringing together young leaders from across the world. We partnered with them to develop a complete visual identity for the forum and deliver branded digital assets to elevate youth voices on a global stage. A few months later, RRI returned to us to repurpose and adapt those assets for their youth programming at COP30, further extending the campaign’s lifespan across two major global advocacy moments.

The Ask

Initially, we were brought on to create a full brand identity and design system for the Global Youth Forum 2025, including the logo, color palette, type system, social media templates, and event visuals. The branding needed to be vibrant, youth-centered, and globally inclusive, with design adaptability across digital, print, and motion.

Months later, RRI asked us to adapt and extend this branding into a new set of deliverables for their youth-led side events at COP30, with materials in four languages (EN, FR, ES, PT).

The new deliverables included:

  • A Youth Roadmap (4–5 pages) designed for booklet printing
  • A Youth Justice Statement (3–4 pages), also booklet-ready
  • A COP30 event banner and digital poster
  • A 1-page flyer to distribute broadly at COP30

The Solution

We built a brand for GYF 2025 with flexibility and endurance in mind, and that decision paid off.

For the COP30 side events, we were able to repurpose and adapt the original identity without starting from scratch, maintaining brand recognition while adapting tone and format for a different audience and moment. The design language held strong, needing only contextual adjustments and translation formatting.

We managed:

  • Tight timelines across 4 languages
  • Seamless layout adaptation for both digital and printed materials
  • Event collateral that remained consistent with the original brand, yet felt fresh in a new setting

The Results

The trust built during the Global Youth Forum resulted in an efficient, aligned, and scalable creative process, making the most of what was already working.

This project demonstrated the value of brand systems with built-in longevity:

  • RRI saved time by re-engaging the original design team
  • We repurposed existing assets into new formats — reducing production cycles
  • The visual consistency strengthened youth identity across global events
  • The GYF brand extended its life into COP30 and beyond
