Centering Women in Climate Communication

The Land Through Her Eyes is a 2-part digital storytelling campaign that centers the voices and experiences of Indigenous women in the protection of their territories. Through visually compelling quote carousels, the campaign explored themes of territorial governance and ancestral knowledge, bringing visibility to the essential role women play in climate resilience and cultural preservation.

The Ask

The Tenure Facility and TINTA sought to develop a digital campaign that would honor the words of Indigenous women leaders and amplify their perspectives on two core themes: territorial governance and ancestral knowledge. The content needed to integrate audio recordings, photographs, and translated quotes across three languages (English, Spanish, and French), and result in visually engaging carousels for social media—each adapted into English and Spanish.

The Solution

We created two distinct series of quote-based carousels, each designed around a guiding question:

  • Territorial governance: “What is women’s role in protecting and managing their lands? What are some of the related challenges?”
  • Ancestral knowledge: “Why is ancestral knowledge key in helping protect and sustain lands and cultures? Why are women vital in these processes?”

The design for the territorial governance series featured a growing branch motif—starting minimal on slide one and gradually expanding into a full visual representation of growth, care, and resilience by the final slide. For the ancestral knowledge series, the focus was on typographic expression—emphasizing key words and phrases to highlight the power of oral and written wisdom.

Each carousel was infused with organic, branded elements drawn from both Tenure Facility and TINTA’s visual identity. We also explored subtle animation treatments to add movement and meaning where possible. The quote cards were designed with bilingual layouts to ensure accessibility and cultural integrity.

The Results

The campaign was a resounding success on LinkedIn, collectively reaching over 4,364 unique viewers and generating 2,772 total engagements across both posts. The first post (Territorial Governance) earned a standout engagement rate of 47.3%, with 2,025 interactions, 134 reactions, and 32 reposts.

The second post (Ancestral Knowledge) followed with 747 engagements and a strong 31.5% click-through rate.

Together, the two carousels maintained exceptional CTRs (over 30%), indicating high content relevance and interest. The campaign not only uplifted Indigenous women’s voices but also sparked tangible engagement and visibility—positioning both partners as leaders in gender-just, community-centered climate storytelling. The creative direction also established a new visual language that may be carried forward in future collaborative campaigns between Tenure Facility and TINTA.
